Chapter 56

Hallow Order

Bronze wings unfold into the cold winds,

black eyes scan this crimson sky.

A light purple gown covers her from winter,

carrying a scroll of hope in her paled hands.

Flying down to earth with urgency,

racing thoughts causes her to sweat holy energy.

A hateful snowstorm blinds her sight,

becoming lost in a sleeping forest.

A village depending on her is far west,

rushing without regard to deliver this scroll.

Her heart pounds with furious desperation,

the wings taking a hellish beating from hidden demons.

Hidden among snow banks with spiritual weapons,

dark grins blend into these warped shadows.

A company of infantry based demons,

hunting for the scroll of hope.

Hidden among the frosted trees is a low general,

Wanting to collect the bounty for this mission,

his plan is unfolding at an extreme rate.

Spearheading through the demonic ambush,

crystal swords slash by her.

Tiny droplets of blood stain the snow,

her face in a deep anguish.

“please lord let me finish this mission”

Her mind pleaded with a hurtful sorrow.

Enraged at her escape,

a demon dies from his wrath.

“We will capture that scroll and deliver it to our lord, failure will not suffice”.

His teeth clenched in a darkening fit,

Slowly his thoughts come together for a fiendish plan.

Whispered orders to his best officers,

springing a trap at the church for her.

Her strength is fading fast,

these wounds are tremendous.

Her face losing the paled complexion,

bronze wings are stiffening under this stress flight.

Her courage is steadfast and sharpened by anger,

giving her tidbits of dying strength to fly.
