Chapter 39

Dream

Frozen sorrow mixed in with bitter tears,

anguish overfills my soul.

I struggle with these damnable obstacles,

attempting to find a vein of success.

Cursing of this rotten affair to the holy sun,

another poem shot down from the Red Baron.

A cigarette burns away my frustration,

looking outside a window pane for peace.

Losing my battling thoughts to a paled cloud,

My heart is wounded from this constant pressure,

deprived of all forms of relief.

Exploring my soul carefully with a magnifying glass,

shards of creativity remain inside my core.

Weariness settles over my bronzed body,

brown eyes drifting off to sleep.

Six foot wings expand into the gentle wind,

glittering from the red sun rays in my dream.

Drifting over calm sea green oceans to my dark fantasy,

chased by fairies with golden eyes and blue hair.

My heart stops by the song of the elves,

Sung by an elvin princess with deep passion.

Emerald snow begins to fall around me,

watching the villages of man prepare for winter.

Daylight brings me back to earth,

gentle kiss from a loving wife.

Inspiration has stabbed my heart,

gathering my instruments to compose of my dream.

The sweet aroma of coffee and a fresh cigarette in the air,

focusing on the ivory paper with a bold grasp of ink.

Slowly the words stain the page and I compose of my dream to the world far away from me.
